What’s the difference between inpatient and outpatient services?
An inpatient service is medical care you get when you’re formally admitted to hospital.
If you’re not formally admitted to hospital, it’s an outpatient service (even if it happens at a hospital).
Examples of outpatient services may include specialist consultations, tests, scans and emergency room treatment.
You can’t claim for outpatient services, on any level of Hospital cover.
