Fake 'health insurance giveback' email
Scammers are currently targeting health fund members via an email purportedly from the Department of Health and Aged Care. The message encourages the recipient to claim a 'Health Insurance Giveback'.
What's wrong
- The sender's email address isn't from the above government department.
- Only your health fund can issue a giveback, not the government or any other entity.
What to look for
If you receive an email with the following details, please DON’T click on any of the links.
- From: Department of Health and Aged Care
- Subject line: Claim your giveback from last year
